A Personal Take: Impacting Youth through Alpha Phi Omega and Scouting University

Hi! My name is Camryn Goulet and I joined Alpha Phi Omega with the Zeta Mu pledge class in Fall 2023. One of my favorite activities Alpha Phi Omega facilitates every semester is Merit Badge and Scouting University. This event allows APO brothers to work directly with boy scouts to teach them skills that will earn them a particular merit badge. In Fall 2023, I was an assistant for the Citizenship in Society course, where the boy scouts learned how to act as an upstander in their community. In Spring 2024, I was a teacher for the Crime Prevention and Fingerprinting course, where scouts learned the importance of public safety and had hands-on experience preserving their own fingerprints. MBU and Scouting University are great ways for brothers of Alpha Phi Omega to interact with our youth communities and always give me a feel-good energy when seeing the scouts succeed!
